PROGRAM INFO

Bioavailability is a measure of how much of a nutrient is actually available to be absorbed by your body. Once you swallow a nutrient, whether it’s a supplement or whole foods, several factors can affect how much of the nutrient gets absorbed, including codependency (it may need other nutrients to help it get absorbed), contraindications (some nutrients are better absorbed with food, others not, and some nutrients cancel each other out), and what you recently ate or drank (coffee can inhibit nutrient absorption). Plus, nutrients can be absorbed differently in different forms. We worked through our program to ensure optimal bioavailability across all 26 nutrients.
Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) is set by the Food and Nutrition Board, the Institute of Medicine, and National Academy of Sciences. The RDA is the average daily intake of a nutrient that meets the requirements of nearly all healthy people, with different allowances set for men and women, teenagers and adults. We developed formulas using RDA as the target, not the minimum
Nutrients remain in your system for various lengths of time — some are stored in your bones, some in your liver, some in your small intestine. So while missing a day isn’t ideal, it’s also not a big deal — simply pick up again tomorrow, and you’ll be back on track. Note: Because we strategically pair and separate certain nutrients, we do not recommend taking multiple occasions at once to “catch up.”
Although the ingredients in First & Foremost’s nutritional supplement products are not derived from whole foods, many are nature-inspired. Some ingredients are fermented and some are synthesized, and we select every ingredient for being in its most absorbable and usable form. These synthetic nutrients are bio-identical and used by the body in the same way as naturally derived ingredients – whether natural or synthetic – and every ingredient is tested to ensure it meets its specifications for identity, purity, and potency.
Our program is predicated on efficacy, and we want to ensure you are really absorbing the nutrients you’re supplementing. The reason many dietitians are loath to recommend multivitamins is because typically they include nutrients that cancel each other out. You consume them, but you don’t absorb them — and there’s no point in that. Our dosage and timing are critical to the success of the program, so we do not recommend combining occasions.
For medication/supplement interactions we know about, we note them on the product label and our website. However, there is always a possibility that you could have an individual reaction to taking a particular medication and a particular nutritional supplement at the same time. Therefore, we always advise that you consult with a qualified health-care practitioner – preferably the one who prescribed or recommended your medication – before you begin taking a nutritional supplement at the same time.
F&F is not personalized so much as it is tailored. We based our dosages off 20+ years of scientific data, the RDA or AI for each nutrient, as well as data about American eating and drinking trends. Every human needs the same nutrients to thrive, and using that data, we have a strong sense of the nutrients that should be consumed by men and women on a daily basis. A supplement program that touts personalization is simply leveraging a marketing tactic.

The dayparted program, in which we separate some nutrients and pair others, has never been done before, and it is patent-pending for that reason — it’s designed for optimal bioavailability. Our dayparted program has three occasions - morning should be taken with breakfast (coffee is ok!), afternoon should be taken between lunch and dinner (think: 2-3 hours after lunch and before dinner, so you consume on an empty stomach), and evening should be taken at bedtime. By separating nutrients into dayparts, we provide the best possible bioavailability so you actually absorb the nutrients.

Yes, we thoroughly test our products to ensure that the potency of active ingredients are within the specification, and ensure the absence of harmful microorganism and heavy metals.
We are NSF Certified: We invest in the safety and purity of our supplements, and we are proud to say all F&F products are NSF Certified, meaning the third-party organization (NSF International) verifies the purity and safety of each batch of the dietary supplements it certifies.
We are non-GMO, which means a product was produced without genetic engineering and its ingredients are not derived from GMOs. At F&F, our in-house Supply Chain team and Quality Assurance team meticulously sourced, reviewed, and documented each ingredient used in F&F products, working hand-in-hand with our manufacturer to ensure the F&F supplements are produced without genetic engineering or derivation from GMOs.
